"The game must be launched through the steam client" bug

After installation, I was unable to start the game, recieving a message telling me that the game must be launched through the steam client (which I used to launch it obviously) . Closing and restarting steam resolved the issue.
...I'm glad that the final version will be DRM-free !

Had the same problem and did the same thing to fix it, closed steam completely and restarted.

It is strange. Anyway we will add more information when this problem happens, to know more specifically what it is. If happens again please tell us.

I had that one also (posted somewhere else as I did not see this post at the time).
Did you receive a AntiVir notification for checking on the first launch? It seems to me that was the cause of the misbehavior of Steam
