who else is psyched for this game?

I went from mildly curious about this game to pretty interested once I read this part of the dev blog, on difficulty and balancing in non-linear games:
Games are either semi/linear, and leave no real decisions up to the player, or they’re open world in such a way that no matter what the player decides to do, the world bends to make that decision the right one. In reality, discovering which areas you are able to explore and learning which enemies are within your abilities to overcome (as well as finally defeating that enemy you once found impossible to combat) are what really make RPGs satisfying and fun.

It was such a relief to read what I'd felt for so long playing newer RPGs, but couldn't put in words (by a game developer no less). I remember talking about the Elders Scrolls series with my brother (before Skyrim came out). It seemed pretty cool, right up until he started elaborating on world auto-scaling.

"Wherever you go, the loot and enemies will always be around the same level as you. Some areas will have a slightly higher level though!" he'd say.

"Wait, wait... so it's a large open world with towns, dungeons, dragons, assassins... and you're telling me you can just waltz in anywhere from start to finish?" I'd reply.

"That's not the point, though!" he'd retort.

My bad, I thought we were talking about a freakin R-P-G! :P Now, to be fair, I realise that a great balance of epicness & challenge is hard to nail. But I think we have a golden egg right here, and I'm glad the Kickstarter worked out so well.
I used to be gold, now I'm just silver.

You are absolutely right my friend! Lords of Xulima is truly bringing back the spirit that we all love and miss. I am very happy to be part of the testing team! " We have a golden egg right here" - I fully agree with you!

I can't wait for it to be 100% complete. I get entranced just walking around, listening to the soundtrack, and uncovering every little part of the map I can. Anyone else find themselves going up against the trees as much as you can, just to see what might be underneath the darkened map? :P

Absolutely agree, I'm so happy I believed in the project and backed it. The game plays so great and I love the graphics, the music ... everything is so well done. It is the best from good ol' RPG games I loved transported to the present. :) I also hope Numantian Games will make enough profit to hold up with the game as a series. Also the community is so far better then most I saw, where people are insulting each other over different opinions and the developers read also very friendly and INTERESTED in the opinion and ideas of their beta testers and backers.
