LoX review+suggestions

Postby Noriel » Tue Jan 20, 2015 1:13 pm

Hello,

last week I bought LoX on GoG and I'm pretty impressed. It's great fun to play, so I wrote a review in german language on the World of Players Network where I recommend to buy it: http://forum.worldofplayers.de/forum/th ... ima-Review

Kudos to the developers and the translation team, the localizing is way better than in quite many other higher budget productions. I just found two spelling mistakes so far, which is exceptional. I did not use any percentages or grades, but just wrote about my recent hours of playing the game.

Besides that I have two suggestions. While I understand that because of the narrative progress a pre-made character is useful, I'd love to see the possibility to at least chose a different class for Gaulen. Or, according to the blog entry about pre-made vs. player-made characters, there already should be dialogues for a whole pre-made party, it would be great to begin the adventure with another pre-made character instead of Gaulen if it really is necessary to have one.

The second suggestion is related to the LoX homepage and the forums. Why isn't there a link to the forums on the homepage? At least I couldn't find one, except on Google.

I'm excited about what's planned in the future, provided that it payed/pays for Numantian :-)

Hi Noriel!

Thank you very much for the review! We hope you are enjoying the DRM-Free version of LoX, and will be sure to also pass along your comment to Philip (who handled the German localization).

Gaulen is the protagonist of a story that was written quite some time ago. In order to be loyal to the story and overall roleplay of the narrative, he had to be a pre-set Explorer. We've received a lot of feedback about offering a more 'customizable' protagonist though, so we will be sure to keep this in mind moving forward.

Our success very much continues to hinge on the support of gamers all around the world who go above and beyond by sharing the game with their friends and favorite networks ;)

I wrote to several german game portals by e-mail and continued to support LoX in this thread: http://forum.worldofplayers.de/forum/th ... 9F-mit-LoX - it's called "Fun with LoX" and offers a wide variety of party-setups, thanks to the easy-cheesy portrait import :D
