Load save would make good training

So, this game is intentionally hard, which is all well and good. But seeing just how hard it punishes the slightest mistakes, I feel like we really need to be able to load saves instead of auto saves as a training mode of sorts.
The devs makes some arguments against this, these being that it's more fun their way, that losing is fun, and that loading saves would cheese a lot of the challenge.
For instance "Obviously, if you can reload, you would be able to explore the surroundings, and then reload without any consequences."
Yeah well, that's how a lot of people play RTS games. This game is described as a cross between RTS and survival. Or this quote.
"Furthermore, losing in this game is really fun. "
Yeah well, that's what the devs thinks. I think it's just getting repetitive now. I'm all for learning from my mistakes, but having to replay hours again and again to do so just feels a bit sadistic, really.
Darkest Dungeon is a hard game that still allows for mistakes and doesn't snatch all your progress away for one little flaw. Losing it all just because I didn't place down a shocking tower or double stacked a wall section is... brutal.
Overall, it feels like the developers are very much into this kind of game. Good for them. But if you want your game to be the success it could be then it have to be approachable.
I do not contest that playing it ironman style is the real experience. But to get to the level of skill where the player may do so without foaming at the mouth, I do believe having a mode that allows for loading saves like in a traditional RTS would go a long way. Once the player understands the game, attempt survival, see how you do.
That's what I think at least.
