Mayor Bug

Never have I had so much fun losing at a game.
That being said I have noticed a small glitch/bug.
When you gain a mayor that expands the size of your resource cap, it doesn't actually expand.
It stays the same. Am I missing something that I need to do to activate the ability?
Otherwise having a ball playing the game!
