Mods on GOG version

I was trying to get mods downloaded from the mods section of the site to work, but keep running into the same error regardless of mod. I can make my own mods just fine, but the downloaded ones keep giving me this same error. I tried multiple mods from the site all give path errors. I'm on a windows 10 64 system. If I create my own mods they show up in the same folder I copied the extracted mods to. The game sees the mod and can open them with the editor, but can't activate them in the game. It just restarts and says no mods are active after it restarts. Self created mods load just fine. Any ideas on how I can fix this issue.
