Last version?

On Kickstarter the version 1.8 of Xulima had been announced:

However the boxed game I installed on my harddisk tells me it´s version is 1.7.0.1352 (when I rightclick LoX.exe)

But how do I update the game? Is there an 1.8 patch to download somewhere? Or is updating only done through steam and I have to change playing from the installed boxed version to the Steam version?

Hi, yes, you have to use Steam for the updates. Anyway the changes list surely does not affect to your game (1.8 includes Polish version and some performance improvements).

I solved it be de-installing the boxed version 1.7 and then installing the Steam version 1.8. Now it even runs slightly faster

Edit: However can I simply continue the game I started in version 1.7 boxed installation in the now 1.8 Steam game I had only reached the Hermit in the Golden Woods so starting over would not be that much work and if savegamecorruption would be possible I´d rather start over...?
