[SOLVED] Segmentation fault on Arch Linux

Postby hagabaka » Mon Dec 21, 2015 2:49 am

Hi, I bought Lords of Xulima from GOG two days ago, and haven't been able to get it to run on Arch Linux. If I run start.sh, I get these messages:
Code: Select all
Running Lords of Xulima
Stacktrace:

  at <unknown> <0xffffffff>
  at System.Windows.Forms.XplatUIX11..ctor () <0x00167>
  at System.Windows.Forms.XplatUIX11.GetInstance () <0x00057>

  at DXVision.DXScene..cctor () <0x0010f>

Native stacktrace:

support/gog_com.shlib: line 94: 20073 Segmentation fault      (core dumped) ./"${bin_64}"

If I use LD_LIBRARY_PATH=./Linux/lib ./LOXLinux which I think would bypass the GOG scripts, it prints two more errors before the same backtrace above:
Code: Select all
gmisc-unix.c:70: assertion 'filename != NULL' failed
gpath.c:133: assertion 'filename != NULL' failed

If I use mono installed with my system to run LoX.exe, it seems to get a little farther as a Lords of Xulima window shows up briefly, but then it shows a dialog titled "Sorry, Lords of Xulima has unexpectedly quit.", with the following error message:
Code: Select all

I would appreciate any help in getting the game to run.

I've found a solution:

I still need to use the system-installed mono. In addition, because I'm on 64-bit, I need to overwrite game/libbass.so with its x64 version, which is in the x64 directory of the archive at http://www.un4seen.com/download.php?bass24-linux . I found the advice for fixing it on this post on Un4seen's forum. The game runs smoothly and seems very enjoyable so far. :)
