[Solved] Game Freezing

Update: Issue Solved. Editting subject tag.

Problem: User Error. :D About a week ago, I bought a new harddrive and installed Windows 8.1 on it. Not knowing any better, I installed the 32-bit version. Apparently, 32-bit operating systems hard cap at 4g of ram. Therefore, by running the game on windows 8.1 32-bit, I was running slightly below the minimum requirements for your game. (I have 8g of ram, but the OS was only reading 1.9g as free to use). Reinstalled to 64-bit OS. 8G ram available now. Game seems to be running fine. 4 hours. No freezes.

Also, you have a major bot infestation on your forums. Cheers!

Original Report follows
--------------------------------------------------------
After watching a few Let's Play videos on youtube, I decided to pick up the game. Absolutely loving it, so far.
What I can play, anyway.

I keep freezing. I've had approximately 3 freezes thus far, in about 2 hours. I can alt-tab out of the game, but I can't disable it through the task manager.
The sound plays, but the video locks up. Generally while walking around. It doesn't seem to be related to combat transitions, two of them happened near Velegarn.
I'm going to try a clean install, to see if that helps. But I wanted to ask if anyone here had any additional advice?

I haven't messed with any of the options in-game, other than tweaking the sound. Running Windows 8.1, Steam's up to date. Videocard driver is up to date. I think I remember noticing that the game resolution was different than my desktop resolution. Could that be a culprit?

I look forward to hearing from you.
(Also, who let all the bots onto the forums? Holy cannoli!)

Update, with more information.

Running GeForce GTX 560 Ti, intel i7-3930K (3.2GHz). 8G Ram. It's a little old, but I'm pretty sure I meet the recommended specs.
I've tried uninstall/reinstalling the game. I've tried a fresh party of characters. Also, on a whim, I downloaded and installed the Directx 9.0c redistributable, just in case I was missing some files.
No luck, yet.
